A Poem Written for Christmas and New Year

For You This Christmas….

It will soon be December 24th and everyone is getting ready,

Aunt Pearl, cousin Jack, Brenda and Uncle Freddie.

We’ve all waited a year for this day to arrive,

Santa’s arriving tonight, his reindeer and sleigh in forward drive.

Bringing joy to our troubled world is not a simple thing to do,

It may take a miracle but it sadly it seems mankind doesn’t have a clue.

What we really need right now at this special time of year,

Is to work together to create a world of good cheer.

You know that tragedies have been frequent during this past year,

With some causing destruction while others producing fear.

Disappointments and loss characterize all of these trauma

I know you’ll agree that we could live with a little less drama?

Life can be great when you are grateful for each and every day,

when you take notice of who you know and take a moment to sincerely say.

Thank you for who you are, for how you add to my life and more,

I know you know you can do this you know, it’s not just silly folklore.

Our purpose here right now, today is to make this world a better place

Whether it be by the deeds you do, or by putting a smile upon your face.

Live each day by being true to yourself, be the best that you can for you and yours,

You know there’ll be distractions and most of those you should ignore.

So, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

May you live each day in love and joy, may your eyes see no fear.

Be healthy and be happy, my wish for you is you will feel totally fulfilled,

I wish you the best in 2014 and may those words be eternally sealed.
