Our Services

Close Connections offers a variety of services for those either wanting to recover from an affair, or sex addiction. We provide a comprehensive, systemic and specialized treatment approach that is unique to you and the needs of each member of your family.

We help you, or you and your spouse work through each phase of the recovery process.

In the Crisis Phase we:

  • help you accurately understanding the various perspectives of infidelity. This includes why the betrayal happened and what it means
  • your reactions and feelings are normal (including hypervigilance)
  • introduce ‘healthy boundaries’
  • regain stability and calm
  • stabilize the family (when there are children)
  • define the affair as a 2-person crisis
  • remorse and guilt (involved partner)
  • determining extra supports that may be necessary

In the Insight Phase we:

  • clarify the meaning of the affair for each spouse and for the relationship
  • review any relevant factors connected to the affair (it is not always a bad marriage)
  • examine how the involved partner justifies their affair
  • shift blame to understanding
  • introduce the difference and benefits of Investigative Questioning
  • shared sense of loss
  • forgiveness
  • begin to build self-esteem (can be for one or both partners)
  • move the crisis to opportunity

In the Vision Phase we:

  • focus on whether the affair is an end or a new beginning
  • strengthen commitment (for couples who choose to stay together)
  • work on “VISION” for the new relationship ‘post-infidelity’
  • work towards realizing that vision
  • work on rebuilding trust (on-going)
  • continue to build self-esteem

When the relationship ends we:

  • continue to build self-esteem
  • work on “VISION” for the individual’s new life
  • work towards realizing that vision
  • co-parenting (when there are children)
